What does the law say?

According to the Electronic Communications Act, which came into effect on 1 July 2011, all visitors to a website that contains cookies should be informed that:

  • the website includes cookies, 
  • what the cookies are used for, and
  • how cookies can be avoided
  • visitors must also consent to cookies being used

About Cookies

The cookie does not contain personal information, but enables us to remember your web browser so that we can adapt the functions of our website and our statistics system to your needs.

There are two different types of cookies. One is stored as a file on your computer for a considerable time. For example, when you revisit a website it will inform you of any changes since your last visit. The second type of cookies, the session cookies, is stored temporarily until you close your browser at the end of your surfing session.
