Highlights from this year's conference on AI, text and data mining and copyright

Vinge has proudly sponsored the international conference Digital Knowledge - The Library and Copyright in a Global Digital Economy, which was held in Stockholm from 11 to 13 September 2024. The conference, organised by the Swedish National Library, the Swedish Patent and Registration Office and the Stockholm Centre for Commercial Law (SCCL), was fully booked and attended by several leading experts in both law and technology. Tobias Kempas, Vinge, gave a presentation about machine learning and copyright. Vinge also organised a welcome reception as well as a Friday lunch, both of which were appreciated.

This autumn we will be sponsoring the international conference "Digital Knowledge - The Library and Copyright in a Global Digital Economy", on September 12-13, organized by the National Library of Sweden, the Swedish IPO, and the Stockholm Centre for Commercial Law. Vinge closely follows the legal and political developments within Industry 4.0, and this conference gives us further opportunities to be at the forefront of these developments. The conference will bring together some of the world’s leading experts to discuss the current and future regulation of AI, copyright, and access to protected content. Green Claims and Greenwashing - navigating the upcoming EU Directive from both German and Swedish legal and business perspectives

Green claims and greenwashing were the subject of a breakfast seminar at Vinge on 11 June 2024, organised in cooperation with the German law firm SKW Schwarz. Regulating Data Ownership in AI-related Agreements

Over the past decade, the development and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have become increasingly prevalent. However, as AI systems rely heavily on data to train and operate effectively, the issue of data ownership has emerged as a significant challenge when negotiating AI-related agreements, i.e., contracts that govern the use, development, licensing, and/or deployment of AI-based technologies and services.
