Vinge’s IP practice group has won two awards at the IAM/WTR Global IP Awards. Vinge was awarded both Swedish Patent Litigation Firm of the Year and Swedish Trademark Litigation Firm of the Year.
The awards were presented on Tuesday evening at the Global IP Awards in London. This is the first time that the awards were presented, and the awards are sponsored by the IP publication IAM and the ranking institute World Trademark Review.
”We are very happy for the recognition represented by these awards. We view this as proof of Vinge’s ability to successfully assist and represent our clients in many of the most complex disputes within the IP area. During 2018, Vinge’s IP practice group has participated in several extensive and complicated IP disputes and has thereby also had the opportunity to actively contribute to Swedish legal developments in the area. A number of surveys confirm that infringement is increasing, and this is a trend which is likely to continue. In light thereof, it is even more important that our clients can turn to us”, says Tobias Kempas, counsel in Vinge’s IP practice group.
The jury’s selection was based on client surveys, reviews of submissions and more than 1500 reference interviews where the jury evaluates which firms are deemed to have the highest quality in relation to the provision of advice.
“Our IP practice group has defended valuable trademarks within the food industry as well as unique patent rights within the pharmaceuticals industry. The IP practice group has also participated in several large transactions which were driven by valuable IP rights, not least within the life science sector. In conjunction with a review of Swedish case law, an unusual number of Vinge’s disputes have been highlighted due to the significance of the subject-matter in question to developments within IP law, which is particularly gratifying,” emphasises Tobias Kempas.
