Global Investigations Review (GIR) 2023 recognises Vinge as the only Nordic law firm with unique and industry-leading expertise within Corporate Investigations on the Swedish market.
The GIR 100 2023 ranking lists the world's 100 top firms within Corporate Investigations, with strict requirements for expertise within investigations and background within the legal system. Thanks to a team of former prosecutors, financial crime investigators and police officers, Vinge's Investigations & Corporate Crime practice group has a level of expertise that stands out among Swedish law firms.
Global Investigations Review 100:
“Swedish full-service firm Vinge has a hugely capable white-collar crime team who bring rich investigative and prosecutorial experience to the practice. Vinge is one of the few full-service commercial law firms in Sweden with a specialised white-collar crime and corporate investigations practice. The practice area has grown significantly in recent years with demand from clients increasing following market developments in Sweden, such as the huge hike in the maximum size of corporate criminal fines from 10 million Swedish krona to 500 million Swedish krona, in 2020.
At the forefront of Vinge’s practice is Mia Falk, who has an outstanding résumé. She has a background as a police officer where she worked as an economic crime investigator for the national police force. She also has in-house experience, having worked as head of corporate investigations at commercial vehicle manufacturer Scania Group. Joining Falk is Per Kjellstrand who served as a prosecutor at the Swedish Prosecution Authority and the Swedish Economic Crime Authority between 2004 and 2020.
The past 12 months has seen notable developments at Vinge, such as the creation of an investigations and international disputes group formed by merging the pre-existing investigations and corporate crime and international disputes practices."
Mia Falk, Head of Investigations & Corporate Crime:
"When a critical incident has taken place within a company, assistance is often required with both investigation and criminal law expertise as well as regulatory and business law support. Since we have Vinge's entire specialist expertise behind us, we can quickly handle all issues that may arise in a crisis. An important part of our work is also to handle situations where crimes are suspected to have been committed in the company, such as insider trading or corruption, where the company is threatened both legally and commercially. We are, of course, pleased to be recognised by GIR 2023 and consider the nomination as confirmation that our clients benefit from the advice that Vinge's team offers in this field."
