Vinge has gained additional international expertise by appointing Noelia Martinez and Martin Bergqvist, both of whom joined the firm at the beginning of September.

Strong growth phase

"We see an ever-increasing demand on the competition law front. With two incoming experts with solid experience, Noelia Martinez on the legal side and Martin Bergqvist on the economist side, we acquire additional expertise and increased capacity in the team," says Marcus Glader, head of Vinge’s EU, Competition and Regulatory practice group.

Expanding with an international flavour

The global landscape of competition law, merger control and foreign direct investment is becoming increasingly complex. Noelia Martinez, Expert, has joined Vinge, where clients benefit from her solid international experience.

"Noelia Martinez's ability to handle complex international transactions helps our clients navigate efficiently through regulatory approval processes. She also has extensive experience in other areas of competition law, such as cartels and abuse of dominance. Her international profile adds great value, and we are delighted to welcome her to the team", says Marcus Glader.

"I want to contribute with a broad international perspective and Vinge is at the forefront of international client work in Sweden, so it was an easy choice to become part of the team," says Noelia Martinez.

While the market absorbs new case-law from competition authorities and courts, FDI legislation, Digital Markets Act, Digital Services Act and Foreign Subsidies Regulation, the need for legal advice in the antitrust sector is growing and broadening.

"Our regulatory field is blooming, with many new laws being adopted. We are seeing a larger number of regulatory approvals around transactions. At the same time, competition enforcement co-ordination is increasing, and big tech markets are being regulated. We will have much more to do in the future in this exciting and growing area", Noelia Martinez concluded.

 Reinforcement of the economist team

Martin Bergqvist, Senior Economist, is a trained economist and has worked extensively with economic analyses in connection with mergers and acquisitions and commercial disputes, both at national and international level.

"Vinge was the first law firm in Sweden to fully integrate economic analysis into legal matters and has one of Sweden's most experienced competition law economists. To become part of Jakob Jeanrond's team is of course very exciting", says Martin Bergqvist.

"Economic analysis as part of the service offering is becoming increasingly important in several areas of law. We are striving towards an integrated offering in which economic analysis forms a natural part of our legal advice," comments Jakob Jeanrond, Chief Economist. "Martin Berqvist contributes particularly good empirical and theoretical knowledge here. He is a most welcome addition to our team!"
