Vinge has won the Mergermarket award M&A Legal Advisor of the Year 2017 from among other business law firms in Sweden. This is the fourth year in a row, and completes the firm’s ”Grand Slam”.
Maria-Pia Hope, CEO, Vinge: “It is fantastic to once again receive the most prestigious international award for Swedish M&A. To receive the award for the fourth in a row cements our position as the Nordic Region’s leading firm within M&A. Our participation in the most important mandates and the privilege of acting in most transactions in 2017 shows the calibre of Vinge’s M&A and capital market’s lawyers.
So far this year, Vinge has been engaged in 75 M&A transactions for a total value of SEK 250 billion, as well as in conjunction with 8 listings. The interest from abroad for Swedish acquisition objects continues to be significant, among other things, there seems to be an increased level of interest from China.
Vinge participated in, among other things, SCA’s hive off and listing of Essity, Foundation Asset Management’s purchase of Sandvik Process Systems and Anhui Shanying Paper’s acquisition of Nordic Paper Holding.
As a result of the Mergermarket award, Vinge has now achieved a complete ”Grand Slam” with awards such as the best Swedish firm from Chambers & Partners, IFLR, best Swedish IP firm from Managing Intellectual Property as well as the European Women in Business Law Awards.
Maria-Pia: “We are heading towards a record year and this year we have won all of the international awards that a Swedish law firm can receive. This is a mark of our clients’ appreciation and the full service concept and that our employees have once again made an excellent contribution. Notwithstanding the fact that the Swedish market has seen somewhat fewer transactions this year compared to 2016, we have been more active, which we interpret in such a manner that we have increased our market share. We are also confident that the first half of 2018 will develop well.
The award for the Year’s M&A firm among business lawyers in Sweden was presented on Thursday evening at the Mergermarket’s European M&A Awards in London. The award is based both on the number of transactions performed and the value of the transactions. Consideration is also to the strategic, complex and innovative level of the transactions as well as the listings which involve the private equity sector. The jury included experts from M&A, as well as representatives from Mergermarket.
