Vinge makes the law more accessible – creates art from legal texts

January 30, 2020 About the firm

Too few have the opportunity to enjoy the art form that is business law. This is why Vinge has created an AI-operated self-playing piano which creates music from legal text.

Vinge uses business law as a tool in its various engagements and projects that influence widely distinct areas of society, both large and small. In order to provide new perspective on the breadth and beauty embraced by its practice, Vinge has created an installation, an artificial intelligence which translates its work product into the most universal form of communication – music. Input any legal text into the machine, press the button, and listen to the unique musical composition created in real time.

The AI has been produced in collaboration with designer and musician Axel Bluhme, and has been instructed and coached by musically inclined Vinge employees.

“We want to use our AI-operated piano to illustrate the breadth and precision of what Vinge does. We are a full-service firm practising in all business law genres. We can finally listen to the full range of sounds embodied in our practice. We regard business law as our very own art form. And at Vinge, everyone can play their own tune,” says Fredrik Dahl, partner responsible for HR.
